Julia Martin has been a professional singer for over 25 years; performing throughout the UK, Europe and around the World, entertaining for a multitude of clients, including world-class hotels, arenas, theatres, cruise liners and the homes of the rich and famous.  With more than 3,700 tribute performances to her name, Julia is more than suited to the task. Julia was also awarded the accolade of being the UK’s No1 tribute to Dame Shirley Bassey, Dolly Parton & Celine Dion, by the NTMA, awards that she is tremendously proud of, and honoured to receive. Her passion is taking on the persona of other characters, to sound like them, dress like them and deliver a performance to an audience in such away that the audience feels they are watching the original performer. Attention to detail is what helps make Julia’s shows so special. Julia owns the largest private collection in the world of original Dame Shirley Bassey stage gowns, and even now, 19 years after purchasing them, she still gets the thrill of wearing a gown that Dame Shirley herself stood and entertained her audience in. When Julia puts on these original gowns, the make-up, and the wig, she is transformed into Dame Shirley Bassey. Similarly with her other tribute shows, whilst Julia does not have original costumes,  replicas have been made, carefully crafted with hundreds of hours of labour being spent on the construction, using the same materials and following every minute detail of the original costume. The Alexander McQueen Silver Celine Dion dress, worn in her Vegas show to perform ‘River Deep’ is one of Julia’s favourites and was copied down to the very last stitch. The Swarovski studded blouse, worn by Dolly at Glastonbury, was replicated to the very last crystal, with thousands of Swarovski gems being hand stitched to make this outfit authentic. Julia not only takes great pride in how she sings and performs, but also in how she looks. The magic of creating a great tribute show is not just the singing, which of course is important, it is about bringing all the components together, the voice, the look, the mannerisms and the personality, this is what creates the illusion, and this is where Julia excels, by making the audience believe that they have watched the original artist perform.

CANDLELIGHT PRODUCTIONS

All of Julia’s tribute shows can be performed with her band of world-class and extremely talented musicians. Julia is also embarking on her unique ‘Evening by Candlelight’ tour, visiting Cathedrals, Minsters, and Stately Homes around the UK.

This spectacular evening of entertainment is further enhanced by video screens and a moving-head light display. When combined with the outstanding performances of her band members, these Candlelight shows deliver an unforgettable display of tribute entertainment that is guaranteed to bring the audience to their feet.
